Acts 4:1-22 | The Troubling Doctrine of the Resurrection
When Pollsters ask non-Christian people what Christians believe, they get a wide variety of answers. They can be encouraging, or uncomfortable, for us to read. Christians are self-righteous. Christians are kind and loving. Christians believe that Jesus saves them from hell and is their ticket to heaven. Christians think they’re right and everyone else is wrong.
When Pollsters ask Christian people what Christians believe, the predominant answer centers on the cross of Jesus. The cross is how we are saved from sin and obtain eternal life. Hard to argue with that, yet remarkably, of those surveyed—Christians and non-Christians alike—the resurrection of Jesus Messiah was seldom listed as central to our faith and life.
