What is your short testimony?
I was raised in a Christian family in Mumbai, India where we were part of a Presbyterian church. Growing up it was more about religion and because of peer pressure I said I accepted Christ in Sunday school without real heart change. This hypocrisy continued in my teen years and early adulthood, with it came a growing number of idols. Few years down the road as a matter of deception- to impress my future wife Ashwini - I started reading the Bible. The seed was sown and Gods word started taking root. After marriage our first crucible moment was the birth of our first child born prematurely and all the challenges it came with. Her name Janice meaning “God is gracious” is a testimony to His faithfulness. The next few years were the most difficult for our marriage and with that the breaking of idols. I did not realize it then but in hindsight the vertical relationship needed fixing before the horizontal could be healed. In November 2010, we moved to Fort Mill and were immediately surrounded by community at Eternal and heard all about Gods grace regularly during the Sunday sermons. Through this God continued to work in our lives building trust as a couple and strengthening our marriage along with me experiencing heart change and the desire to serve Him. Serving is one of the ways I worship and it brings me joy. My desire is to share this with others in our church community. All praise to our Lord and savior Jesus who is continuing to work in and through us for His glory.
What is your hope for Eternal Church?
My hope for Eternal Church is that we are a community with outward focus where everyone loves each other and serves the needs of others in humility, encouraging one another to the good deeds that God has prepared in advance for us!
