He's Coming, For Sure! || God With Us 1
Our world seems to love decorating for Christmas. Home Depot had displays up in October. (No comment here about commercialism…). Why are we so fixated on a celebration months away?
I believe it is in anticipation of a joy that is sure to come, NOT in hopes that it might possibly come. It’s that certain anticipation (and not that weak maybe) that marks the biblical definition of hope.
God began to decorate the halls of OT history already in the desert of Sinai, just after Israel walked free from Egypt. He was teaching his people to hope for a sure thing: the absolute guarantee that he would live with them permanently, a presence so intimate that they would see him face to face.
Sunday, we’ll look at God’s magnificent decor to learn how we can celebrate Jesus’s coming…and hope for that sure future!
