Luke 19 & 20 || Testing and Tested

Jesus made it back to Jerusalem!. After years of traveling and teaching, Jesus finally enters the familiar streets for the last week of his life on earth. It’s a monumental moment: crowds ran out to meet him and to accompany him back into the city. It’s a provocative moment, too, for the crowds are waving palm branches, rejoicing, shouting and saying “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” The words are from Psalm 118 and would announce the Messiah! Do the crowds know that? The Pharisees did, and tried to stop it but they couldn’t.
